tierra bruñida

MEXICAN-INSPIRED TABLEWARE COLLECTION

Tierra Bruñida is a small collection of hand-built and thrown ceramics inspired by the material honesty and tactile richness of traditional Mexican pottery. Rooted in my own cultural background, the collection explores roughness, irregularity, and gesture through a clay body I mixed myself and custom glazes developed through iterative testing. Layered, scratched, brushed, and burnished surfaces allow the material to retain its grit and imperfection, while loose swirls of color move across each form. The collection reinterprets inherited craft traditions through a contemporary, intimate lens.

SUMI-E-INSPIRED CERAMIC COLLECTION

Ink & Earth is a collection of wheel-thrown ceramics shaped by the fluid, atmospheric qualities of traditional Japanese ink painting. Drawing from the meditative rhythm of sumi-e, the collection explores gesture, contrast, and movement through custom slips and glazes developed through iterative testing. Deep, inky strokes are brushed and dragged across a warm clay body, allowing each surface to retain the spontaneity and irregularity of the making process. The collection reinterprets the poetic qualities of Japanese mark-making through clay, balancing control with movement and imperfection.
